Head coach of Kwara United, Tunde Sanni Salihu has been talking ahead of their game coming up sounding very optimistic of a positive results and has recently stated they will only need fair officiating to get the job done.
Both teams have been paired against each other in the first preliminary round of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup and are all motivated for nothing but a win as they have all targeted at least a group stage spot.
The Harmony Boys haven’t really had a good start to the new season in Nigeria having won only one in the opening four matches and played out a goalless draw away at Warri Wolves over the weekend
However, their opponents Asante Kotoko also did the unthinkable in their opening league fixture last Saturday with a narrow 0-1 win to beat Berekum Chelsea away from home for the first time ever and this will definitely serve as a huge source of motivation coming into the game.
Despite this, Kwara United are still unfazed and said they just need a good officiating and will deliver against the Porcupine Warriors to cruise into the next round. Coach Tunde Sanni told Kumasi-based Akoma FM in an interview
“We are preparing very well and are confident of beating Kotoko, provided there is fair officiating.”
The first leg is slated for Sunday, September 21, at the Ohene Gyan Stadium in Accra.
