The Referee's Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), have named 52 match-officials for the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) which will be held early next year in Algeria.

The list was really long but surprisingly has only two Ghanaians among. 19 center referees were selected, including 21 assistants and 12 VAR officials.

Ghana's best referee Daniel Laryea after making the list of the last CHAN as part of the center-referees, has this time been named to join the list of those who will be in charge of VAR throughout the competition.

However, his compatriot, Kwasi Brobbey has also been added to the assistant officials for the competition.

The 2022 CHAN tournament is the seventh edition and was supposed to be played in July this year but due to some issues, it has to be pushed to early next year and will commence on January 13, and will run till February 4, 2023.

The Black Galaxies after a long absence have returned into the competition and have been put in a tough Group C that has holders Morocco, Sudan and Madagascar.
