Ampem Darkoa Ladies produced a stunning second-half display to record a commanding 5-1 victory over Mali's USFAS Bamako in their opening Group B match of the 2026 CAF Women's Champions League.
The Ghanaian champions were forced to come from behind after USFAS Bamako stunned them with the opening goal in the 12th minute.
However, Ampem Darkoa responded in impressive fashion, with Nana Mma scoring twice before the halftime break to complete a remarkable turnaround and hand the Ghanaian side a 2-1 lead.
The two-time Ghana Women's Premier League champions took complete control after the interval, overwhelming their opponents with an attacking masterclass.
In-form forward Angela Yeboah netted twice to put the contest beyond doubt, while Beline Nyarko added a superb strike as Ampem Darkoa continued to dominate proceedings.
Nancy Amoh then put the icing on the cake with a well-taken goal in stoppage time to complete an emphatic 5-1 victory and cap an outstanding team performance.
The convincing win sends Ampem Darkoa to the top of Group B after the opening round of matches.
The result was made even more significant after defending champions ASFAR suffered a surprise defeat to Uganda's Kawempe Muslim Ladies, handing the Ghanaian club an early advantage in the race for a place in the knockout stage.
Ampem Darkoa will now look to build on their dream start when they face tougher tests in their bid to become the first Ghanaian club to win the CAF Women's Champions League.
