Tanzania based Benjamin Tanimu has been handed his first call-up to the Nigeria senior national team after being picked in the squad for March international friendly matches against Ghana and Mali.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) at the weekend announced that the Super Eagles will face Ghana on March 22 and Mali four days later in Marrakech, Morocco.

21-year-old Tanimu who plays for Tanzania's Ihefu FC has been handed his maiden call up by the technical handlers following the injury of PAOK defender William Troost-Ekong.

The defender has vowed to give his very best should the coaches weave him in the line-up against Ghana or Mali.
