Angry and disappointed Mohamed Youssef has refused to accept Pharaohs Administrative Manager position following Hossam Hassan’s appointment as head coach.

The former Al Ahly coach was originally appointed as a caretaker for the Egyptian national team and was expected to start his new role as the head coach when a new foreign gaffer was hired.

However, the Egyptian FA decided to take a different approach and hire a local coach in Hossam Hassan, leaving Youssef’s position in disarray.

According to reports in the northern African nation, the EFA offered Youssef the ‘Administrative Manager’ role instead, which has no coaching duties, something the former defender found inept which he outrightly turned down.

Youssef, 53, guided Al Ahly to win the CAF Champions League and the CAF Super Cup, while also having managerial spells with Smouha, Bank Al Ahly, El-Gaish and Iraqi side Al Shorta.
