Following Zamalek’s goalless draw against Ghana's Dreams FC in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday, Ahmed Hossam Mido, in an interview with KingFut, has urged his former club to sign Percy Tau next summer to help take the club to the next level.

Though the semi-final of the Confederation Cup battle still has the return leg game in Kumasi, Zamalek fans are already pointing out areas where they want coach José Gomes to improve in the summer as they prepare for next season.

In response to Zamalek’s scoreless draw with Dreams, Mido believes the transfer market is the key to Zamalek’s future success in such big-game continental clashes.

“Zamalek has done well in the transfer period by signing quality midfielders, especially Nasser Maher, who plays with passion. In my opinion, he is a very important player,” Mido said.

“If there are more signings in the summer, Zamalek will return to its natural strength and compete for all the trophies.

“I urge the Zamalek fans to be patient with the club’s board because change takes time, and the club is on the right track in all sports.

Tau's contract with Al Ahly will expire at the end of the upcoming season, but it has been revealed that Al Ahly is doing their absolute best to extend the South African international stay.

“I hope Percy Tau joins Zamalek. The Zamalek board should fight to sign him because his contract with Al Ahly is nearing its end.

“Ramadan Sobhi is a young player but hasn’t developed as expected in the past two years. However, Zamalek can give him a lifeline. The club’s fans are great, they can revive anyone from the freezer, but we must respect Pyramids because they still own the player’s contract.”
