Emmanuel Mamah scored FC Samartex's first ever CAF Champions League goal to hand them an important win over the weekend, and has shared his excitement for achieving that feet.

The Ghanaian champions had their first taste of the continent's biggest club competition and they marked it with a vital 0-1 away win over Cameroonian champions Victoria United last Sunday in the first leg of the first round prelims in Douala.

The game was really a very difficult one for both sides until Emmanuel Mamah scored with a towering header on the 47th minute and that was enough to give the Timber Giants the win.

Speaking to the club's official media after the game, the young forward expressed elation for their win and has called upon all Ghanaians to continue their support as they aim at another victory in the second leg.

"I'm very happy to be the first player to score a goal for Samartex in the Champions League. Coming into the game I had a strong believe I was going to score."

"We were very prepared and confident earning the win despite playing away from home. We urge all our fans to come support us to another victory in the second leg."

The return encounter is slated for next Sunday, August 25, at the Ohene Gyan Stadium
