Nigerian giants Enyimba FC have shown interest in signing former of Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richmond Ayi heading into the 2024/25 football season, per exclusive reports in the indigenous media.
Ayi, last signed a three-year extension with Hearts of Oak in 2022 and will have his current contract exhausted in December but head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has already confirmed his service won't be needed anymore at the club.
But, according to Kwame Dela of Wontumi Radio and TV, Richmond Ayi has popped up on the radar of Enyimba FC who have started negotiating with the player's representatives hoping it yield something fruitful in the coming weeks.
The 27-year-old shot-stopper is also on the wishlist of lots of clubs locally with newly-promoted side Vision FC the front runners at the moment.
The ex- Black Meteors goalie joined the Rainbow Club after the 2017/18 season as a free agent, having already had topflight spells with Techiman City FC and WAFA.
He played an important role in powering the 'Phobians' to two FA Cup titles in two years, especially the last one against Bechem United in Kumasi and was also part of their treble winning squad in 2021.
