European based Pay-TV service Fox Sports Italy has acquired the rights to the next two editions of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF)-operated competition takes place on a biennial basis. Fox Sports will show all 32 matches, including group stages, knock-out rounds and the final, from the 2017 edition in Gabon and the 2019 tournament in Cameroon.
The deal was negotiated with Lagardère Sports, which has an exclusive media and sponsorship rights deal in place with CAF until 2028.
The previous Cup of Nations took place in 2015, after the switch to taking place in odd-numbered years to avoid conflicts with the Fifa World Cup and Uefa European Championship every two years.
That edition took place in Equatorial Guinea and was won by Ivory Coast.
