Dr. Randy Abbey has officially assumed the role of Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, tasked with spearheading efforts to restore the fortunes of Ghana’s senior national football team following their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
In an interview with Citi Sports, Dr. Abbey expressed confidence in the collective abilities of his team to make a meaningful impact.
“It’s not about me; it’s about the team I work with,” he stated. “Fortunately, I have very competent members on the committee, and together, we will draw from our experiences to support the technical team and players.”
The newly-formed Black Stars Management Committee boasts a diverse team of experts:
- Stephen Appiah: Former Black Stars captain, serving as Vice Chairman and overseeing player relations.
- Samuel Aboabire: Chairman of the Greater Accra Football Association, contributing administrative expertise.
- Moses Armah: Owner of Medeama SC, responsible for operations and matchday logistics.
- Richard Nsenkyire: Owner of Samartex 1996, charged with special duties to enhance team operations.
