Hearts of Oak have been eliminated from the CAF Confederations Cup second round prelims despite narrowly edging out Real Bamako by 1-0 at the Ohene Gyan Stadium.
The 'Phobians' started well, having created the first corner kick which was well taken but was dealt with properly, the rebound went wide for a restart.
Real Bamako looked really comfortable on the ball with no any dangerous incursions as they hope to preserve their lead especially in the opening minutes.
Hearts of Oak were the controllers of the game, having dominated every aspect especially in the first half.
The homesters came close to snatching the lead but Isaac Mensah's header missed the target by inches.
In the second half, Real Bamako still looking compact in their own half and were not ready to allow any ball at the back of their net.
On the 60th minute, a decent cross was crafted into the box but Kwadwo Obeng's connection missed the post narrowly.
The Rainbow club at some point were playing with so much intent and purpose but finding the back of the net was always their major problem.
Hearts of Oak finally took the lead on the 89th minute through Caleb Amankwah. Just what they have been hunting for.
It ended 1-0 for Hearts of Oak after full time but have still exited the competition after losing the first leg 3-0 last week.
