Ghana’s U-15 female national team, the Black Damsels, made a commanding start to their CAF African Schools Championship title defence with a resounding 6-0 victory over Guinea in Harare.
The West Africans delivered a dominant performance from start to finish, with Mavis Koah stealing the spotlight with a brilliant brace.
Ghana wasted no time asserting their authority, as Belinda Kpentey opened the scoring just six minutes into the game. Two minutes later, Jennifer Awuku doubled the lead to give the Black Damsels early control.
Koah then got in on the act, netting her first goal in the 19th minute before Margaret Tawiah added a fourth just three minutes later to put the contest beyond doubt.
The attacking onslaught continued as Koah grabbed her second on the half-hour mark, showcasing her clinical finishing. Janet Eyram then completed the rout five minutes later, capping off an emphatic first-half display.
With a perfect start secured, the Black Damsels will now turn their attention to their next fixture against Tanzania later on Monday as they continue their quest to retain the continental title in Zimbabwe.
