Zouheir El Moutaraji's brace delivered Wydad Athletic Club their third CAF Champions League title after beating Al Ahly by 0-2 in the final at the Mohammed V Stadium.

 

The Red Castles started on a higher note, having taken the game at Ahly pushing for the opening goal after Jalal Daouda tried connecting El Amloud's cross with a bicycle kick but was cleared by Ayman Ashraf.

The Moroccans broke again on the 10th minute, Yahaya Jabrane found Mbenza who turned nicely and sent a powerful hit but went off the upright. Just unlucky!
 
Their constant pressure finally yielded them the results after getting the opener on the 14th minute. Zouheir El Moutaraji combined nicely with Mbenza to send a thunderbolt which went straight into the net.
 
Al Ahly with their first opportunity on the 19th minute after Maaloul picked up El Shahat with a decent ball in the box but a great intervention from Amine Farhane rescued the situation.
 
The Red Devils once again came so close to getting the equalizer but Yasser Ibrahim's powerful header from Ali Maaloul's corner kick but missed the post by few inches.
 
Just ten minutes after, Percy Tau also made his through the box in search for a goal but Farhane was quick to clear out for a wasted corner kick. 
 
In the second half, Wydad Athletic Club doubled their lead just two minutes from the break through the man again, Zouheir El Moutaraji whose shot was initially stopped by El Shenawy but his rebound eventually got into the net leaving the Moroccan fans in raptures.
 
Al Ahly looked really slow and are unable to stop the explosive counter break of their opponents, leaving them chasing only shadows.
 
Ahly's Mohammed Sherif launched in a decent cross which came off the head of Yahya Allah and nearly caused an own goal but Ahmed Tagnaouti saw it coming and tipped over the crossbar. 
 
The Red Castles resulted into staying in their half in the last ten minutes to watch their opponents do more of the possession whiles they hit on a break. 
 
After 90+4 minutes, referee Victor Gomez whistled to end the game in Casablanca. It finished 0-2 for Wydad Athletic Club.
