Medeama SC secured a 1-1 draw against Young Africans in the CAF Champions League MD3 clash at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Jonathan Sowah scored for the Ghanaian champions from the penalty spot in the 27th minute, while Ivorian midfielder Peodoh Pacome Zouzoua leveled the score with a low shot.
In the post-match conference, Coach Evans Augustine Adotey defended Sowah's performance, expressing satisfaction with his efforts and highlighting his versatility.
“As a coach, I’m impressed with Sowah’s performance. The same players gave me the league trophy”, said Evans Adotey.
“He was fighting, he sometimes played as a lone striker, he attacked pretty well, and he dropped back to defend”, continued the coach.
Despite mixed reactions from fans, Adotey praised Sowah's contributions, emphasizing his attacking and defensive roles.
Medeama is set to face Young Africans in the next fixture in Dar es Salaam.
