The Red Giants have been strongly linked with a move for the Medeama SC star but their president insists that an official bid has not yet been made.

Sowah, joined Medeama in the second round of the 2022-23 Ghana Premier League and his form over the course of this season's CAF Champions League campaign has prompted Africa and Europe top clubs as they attempt to sign one of Ghana's most highly rated goal mongers.

The likes of Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns have all been linked with the exciting playmaker, who has scored four goals for Medeama since the start of Ghana's top flight in September.

Al Ahly and Sundowns, though, haven't yet table-in a concrete offer for Sowah, with Dr Tony Aubynn describing the striker as a "powerful force" but telling OnTime Spor that no official bid has been tendered-in.

He said: "Now, we do not want the player transferred to any club, but perhaps in the future, we will think about it.

"He represents a powerful force for the team and there is no specific price for selling him."

When asked if they're on the negotiation table regarding the transfer of the player, he added: "There are no negotiations between Medeama and Al Ahly regarding Jonathan Sowah, and we have several clubs interested in the player, including Egyptian and European clubs."

In their opening Group D CAF Champions League game against Al Ahly, Medeama were pumelled 3-0 in Cairo. They will host Algerian side CD Belouizdad on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
