Erstwhile coach of Bibiani Gold Stars, Michael Osei has warned Ghanaians to lower their expectations for the Black Stars ahead of the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Osei believes it is good to set lofty ambitions but there are good teams who will be playing in the tournament and has been placed on the scale of being the favorites

“It's good for our ambition to search for our next fifth AFCON trophy, but we should lower our expectations because it won't be easy at all. We have seen that many of the other countries are also more favourites," Osei said.

Ghana has been paired with Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique in Group B of the 2023 AFCON.

The tournament has been slated to come off on Saturday, 13th January, until February 11th, 2024 in Ivory Coast.
