The Riversiders have activated the option in the loan agreement of the transformative enforcer to secure him permanently.

English Championship side Blackburn Rovers have announced the acquisition of French-born Malian midfielder Moussa Baradji from Yverdon-Sport on permanent basis.

The 25-year-old midfielder arrived at Ewood Park but missed the opening months of the campaign due to an ankle injury.

Upon his return to fitness, Baradji made 33 appearances including 18 starts in the Championship. He bagged a brace in the draw against Charlton Athletic at Ewood Park in January.

The French-born midfielder is excited to have made the move permanent and hungry to kick on next season after his first taste of English football.

“I’m happy to be staying here and it’s a big step in my career to be here at Blackburn Rovers,” he told Rovers TV

“In my head, it’s always been clear that I want to be here at Rovers. I am happy to be here, playing in England and playing for Rovers. Blackburn Rovers is a great club and this is a great step for me to take in my career.

“I will work hard in pre-season, which is important for every player, particularly in the Championship, where you have 46 games. It sets you up for the season ahead.

“I want more games, more goals and more assists next season. I’m excited for what’s to come.”

The new deal will keep the talented midfielder at Blackburn Rovers until the summer of 2030.

Baradji is eligible to play for either Mali or France at the international stage in the future.
