Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has been honoured with a chieftaincy title in Rivers State on Sunday, February 19, 2024.
The Chippa United shot-stopper was enstooled with the chieftaincy title by the traditional monarch of Egbema Kingdom in Rivers State, His Royal Majesty Nzeobi Evaritus Amida.
Rivers State is a state in the Niger Delta region of southern Nigeria (Old Eastern Region), and the birthplace of Nwabali.
The title, Ugo Egbema “The Pride of Egbema Kingdom”, was conferred on Nwabali.
His enstooling is an act to honor his impressive performance at the AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast. which has sold a good name for the state.
Nwabali kept four consecutive clean sheets and also made two saves in the penalty shootout win against South Africa in the semi-finals.
Following his superb performance in the AFCON there has been loads of European and PSL club's enquiring about his availability for a possible transfer.
