Nyima Nwagua, the Skipper of Nigerian team Rivers United, has weighed in on the ongoing social media debate between Ghana and Nigeria regarding which country makes the best jollof rice.
Nwagua shared his perspective during a press interaction on Saturday before his team's CAF Confederation Cup match against Ghanaian side Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
"I had the opportunity to taste Ghanaian jollof, and I enjoyed it. However, as a Nigerian, I would personally prefer Nigerian jollof over the Ghanaian version," he remarked.
In recent days, social media has been buzzing with banter between citizens of these two West African countries following a comment by Hilda Baci about the perceived quality of Ghanaian jollof.
Nwagua joined Rivers United in September 2021 after his stint with Kano Pillars and was later named the club's captain in August 2023.
