The 20-year-old defender of Malian heritage has penned fresh terms over an extension with the German elite division outfit, with his new deal set to take him through to 2029

German-born Malian defender Fousseny Doumbia has signed a contract extension deal with Bundesliga giants Eintracht Frankfurt, the club have confirmed.

The promising centre-back, who teamed up with the Die Adler from TSV 1860 Munich on a free transfer in the summer of 2024, has lived up to his billings with the youth ranks of the Waldstadion outfit and has now been tied down to a long-term contract.

Announcing the contract extension deal of the the talented young defender, the German side have said: ''Eintracht Frankfurt have secured the long-term services of another talented player, Fousseny Doumbia. Since his move from TSV 1860 Munich to the Riederwald stadium in 2022, Doumbia has been a key player for both the U19 and U21 teams.

''The 21-year-old can play both center-back and left-back and has made 81 appearances for the club, including 16 in the current Hessenliga season. The Munich native has been training regularly with the first team since the start of the campaign and has been included in the Bundesliga matchday squad seven times.

Doumbia holds both German and Malian citizenship. He made his debut for Mali's U20 national team in June of last year.''

Sporting director Timmo Hardung has told his club's official website: ''Fousseny has developed very well in recent years. His performances in the youth academy and his impressions in professional training clearly demonstrate his potential. We are delighted that he will continue his journey with Eintracht.”

Doumbia has so far taken in 16 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt ll in the Hessenliga in this ongoing campaign.

With his glaring talent, the Malian national football team technical handlers will be monitoring his progress from afar as they work on integrating him into their senior national team in the near future after playing for the Mali U20 national youth team.
