The promising wonderkid has completed his transfer switch to the German heavyweights from the Slovakian top tier campaigners in this January window
Nigerian talented teenage sensation Suleiman Sani has joined Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig from Slovak First Football League side AS Trenčín on a five-and-a-half-year deal, the club have confirmed.
The 19-year-old became a sought-after talent among European top dogs, with Premier League superpowers Chelsea and Tottenham all believed to have courted the ex-Akwa United budding star in this winter transfer window.
After winning the race in capturing the enterprising nimble footed winger, the Red Bull Arena outfit have stated in an excerpt of official confirmation: ''RB Leipzig have secured another young attacking option for the future, with Suleman Sani completing a move from Slovak top-flight side AS Trenčín. The 19-year-old winger has signed a contract valid until 30th June 2031 and will wear the number 18 shirt.''
Suleiman has stated to his club's official website: ''Moving to RB Leipzig is a big step for me and something I’m extremely proud of. I’m especially impressed by the way the club develops young players, puts trust in them and supports them in a targeted way. I’m looking forward to learning every day in this highly professional environment, continuing to develop and giving everything for the team. The style of football played here suits me very well, and I can’t wait to pull on the RB Leipzig shirt for the first time.''
Sporting director Marcel Schäfer added: ''We’ve signed a highly talented young winger in Suleman Sani. He has an exciting profile and all the attributes needed to take the next steps in his development at RB Leipzig. Suleman mainly operates on the left, has plenty of pace, is difficult to knock off the ball thanks to his physicality and likes to run in behind. He also works hard without the ball and shows the right attitude.
''Bringing Suleman in now is a move made with the summer in mind, as the opportunity arose to secure him on a permanent deal. He gives us greater depth and flexibility out wide. We’ll give him the time he needs to settle into the Bundesliga and are very much looking forward to the journey ahead together.”
Before sealing his transfer switch to the Die Roten Bullen, he figured in 14 games by scoring 3 and assisting 4 for AS Trenčín across all contests in this current campaign.
With this mega move to Germany, the Super Eagles technical handlers will now be monitoring his progress from afar in order to ensure his smooth integration into the senior national team having played for the Under-20 youth team.
