The stage is set and the die is cast for the 2024 Summer Olympics qualifier play-off between the Super Falcons of Nigeria and Banyana Banyana.

Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis has declared that their final Olympic playoff game against Nigeria in April will be a 'do or die' affair.

South Africa edged out the Twiga Stars of Tanzania 4-0 on aggregate in the third round of qualifiers to qualify while the Super Falcons eliminated Cameroon by a one-nil scoreline to set up a deadly clash with Banyana.

“It will be do or die [against Nigeria],” declared Ellis, adding: “We want to have an early camp; we will improve our chances when we prepare early and very well.”

South Africa last appeared at the Olympics in 2016. They will hope to get the best out of the nine-time African champions in April for a ticket to Paris.

Only two slots has been allocated to Africa for the Olympics. Zambia and Morocco will battle for the other slot.
