Percy Tau and Wessam Abou Ali might return to Al Ahly’s matchday squad after the pair were pictured in training ahead of their flight out to Medeama SC.
Tau took part in the team’s group training session held on Monday, at the El Tetsh training ground in Gezira, joining Wessam Abou Ali, who also recovered from a muscle injury.
Meanwhile, young midfielder Ahmed Nabil Kouka, participated in the training session after recovering from an ankle injury that had kept him out of training and Egypt’s AFCON 2023 squad recently.
The Bloods travel to Ghana for the second leg of their CAF Champions League fifth round fixture on Friday, February 23, 2024.
Medeama head into the contest like wounded lions, as they are currently bottom of the standings with four points while Al Ahly are sitting top of the group, having accumulated six points, followed by Young Africans and Algerian club CR Belouizdad which both has occupy the second and third positions, respectively, with five points each.
Medeama, who have endured a jaded domestic season thus far, will be on high alert when Al Ahly come to town, and the visitors could be reinforced by the returns of the two deadly stars.
