Hearts of Oak nipped on substitute Sani Mohammed's equaliser to salvage a draw against Togo men U20 national team this afternoon at the Stade Municipal de Lome.
Head coach Aboubakar Ouattara heading into this game, named an unchanged line up as he fielded the same XI that started in their midweek friendly.
Hearts of Oak weren't really bad in the opening minutes of the game but didn't create much goal scoring opportunities as they kept more of the ball with no incursions.
The Togolese got reduced to ten men in just ten minutes into the game after Achiangbon Bernard was shown a red card for a reckless tackle.
The hosts were awarded a penalty on the 38th minute and Tchadjobo Aminou stepped up and scored to give them the lead as it finished 1-0 at half time.
In the second half, Hearts of Oak returned on a higher note after some series of changes were made hoping to help turn things around.
Looks like the substitution worked as two substitutes Sani Mohammed and Stephen Appiah Asare combined beautifully with the former hitting into the net to level the score.
Both teams challenged each other on so many occasions with the Young Hawks looking making use of their physics more but the game saw no goal again as it finished 1-1 after 90 minutes.
Hearts of Oak's unbeaten run continues since arriving in Togo over a week ago having recorded an emphatic 3-1 win over National Championat side AC Semassi FC in the midweek.
