Pyramids FC have no plans to sign Al Ahly right-back Mohamed Hany during the upcoming summer transfer window despite speculation linking the Egypt international with a move away from the Cairo giants.
Hany’s future at Al Ahly has come under scrutiny with negotiations over a contract extension reportedly stalled due to differences over financial terms.
A failure to reach an agreement could see the defender leave the club as a free agent next summer.
However, Pyramids are not currently pursuing Hany and have not opened negotiations with either the player or his representatives over a possible move.
The Egyptian club also does not consider right-back a priority position for reinforcement.
Moroccan defender Mohamed Chibi remains one of Pyramids’ main options in the position, while Khaled Awad is also trusted by the coaching staff and is regarded as a player capable of further development.
With those options already available, Pyramids are satisfied with their current depth at right-back and see little need to enter the market for another player in the position.
Hany’s situation at Al Ahly therefore remains separate from Pyramids’ transfer plans.
The 29-year-old could attract interest from elsewhere if he becomes a free agent, but Pyramids have so far distanced themselves from the possibility of bringing him to the club.
