Former Ghana Football Association communications director, Ibrahim Saanie Daara, has expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Black Stars in the recent 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars ended their winless run this year after recording back-to-back wins during the qualifiers, defeating Mali 2-1 in Bamako and snatching a 4-3 victory over Central Africa Republic in Kumasi.

Speaking to Kessben FM in Kumasi, the senior CAF media officer asserted that the Black Stars' recent triumph over the Wild Beast of Central Africa Republic is a testament to the team’s turning point.

“Black Stars is gradually rising. The win against Central Africa Republic is a testament to it because of their (CAR) performance at the AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast.”

“The team hasn’t gotten to the level we will beat our chest and be proud of, but good coaching guarantees positive results. So we need to throw our support behind the coach (Otto Addo) so he can perform his duties diligently. In the quest of doing his job, he will obviously have some lapses and when that happens, we do not have to hoot at him but rather encourage him.”

Ghana is now top of the Group I table with 9 points after three victories and one loss in the ongoing FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
