Ghana’s Black Queens face a do-or-die encounter against Tanzania on today (Monday) in a decisive group stage fixture at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The match, taking place at Berkane Municipal Stadium, will determine Ghana’s chances of progressing to the knockout stages after a mixed start to the tournament.

Coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren's side must secure all three points to keep their qualification hopes alive, following the 2-0 defeat to defending champions South Africa in their opener and battling to a 1-1 draw with Mali, Ghana have managed just one point from their first two Group C matches.

Tanzania, meanwhile, are also seeking to advance and pose a formidable challenge.

The Black Queens are aiming to return to the latter stages of the continental competition for the first time since 2018.
