President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B, Kurt Okraku has thrown his weight behind President of Confederations of African Football (CAF), Dr. Patrice Motsepe second term bid ahead of CAF's March 2025 elections.
The Ghana FA capo made the declaration during the 17th Ordinary Congress of WAFU-B held in Niamey, Niger on Friday.
Okraku believes that the South African billionaire have shaped African football hence the need to support his candidacy for a second term.
“You {Motsepe} have shaped the future of African football and positioned CAF to even greater heights. Members of WAFU Zone B offer you our undiluted support,” Okraku said, addressing Motsepe directly.
“Officially, I lead my colleagues and brothers from WAFU Zone B to offer our undiluted support to you for the CAF Presidency elections next year. I repeat Sir; You have the full backing of members of WAFU Zone B as you seek a second term in office next year,” Okraku added.
Motsepe, officially agreed to go for a re-run for the elections after pleas from various CAF Member Association Presidents, Zonal Union leaders, and other stakeholders, making him the first to confirm his candidacy for next year's elections.
