2. Bundesliga duo VfL Bochum and Arminia Bielefeld have set sights on German-born Ghanaian youngster Maurice Boakye from Bundesliga club Hamburger SV, a report from the German media has indicated.
The former VfB Stuttgart ll attacking forward, who joined the Hamburger SV ll during the summer of 2025, is set to move on this coming summer, with potential suitors likely to snap up his services on a free transfer given his current existing contract which is set to expire on June 30, 2026.

According to German tabloid newspaper BILD, VfL Bochum and Arminia Bielefeld have positioned themselves to leverage on the contractual situation of the Ghana-prospect youngster at the Hamburg-based club as fresh term over a renewal is yet to take place between both parties.
lt would be a major blow to those managing the administrative affairs of the Volksparkstadion campaigners should they lose their prized jewel to potential suitors this summer after penciling him down as a future prospect with the main team for the subsequent football seasons.

Boakye took in 33 appearances by racking up 23 goals and setting up another 4 for Hamburger SV ll in the just concluded 2025/26 campaign.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Hamburg-born native remains eligible to switch nationality and represent the Ghana national football team at the senior level on the international stage.
