The English-born of Ghanaian descent is in line to make his debut appearance for the West African nation at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations after earning a place in the 55-man provisional squad list.

West Bromwich Albion centre-forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has been named in Chris Hughton's provisional squad list for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for early next year.

 

Thomas-Asante is set to be rewarded with a potential call-up to continental showpiece after a scintillating performances at West Bromwich Albion in the English Championship since last season.

 

The 25-year-old, who was born to Ghanaian parents in England, has scored seven goals and provided two assists in his 21 appearances for West Bromwich Albion across all competitions this season so far.

 

Thomas-Asante has already completed his nationality switch to represent Ghana at the international stage.

 

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has already submitted a list of fifty-five (55) received from the Black Stars technical team led by Chris Hughton to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the forthcoming tournament in Ivory Coast.

 

Ghana have been placed in Group B of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations alongside record-title holders Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.
