The forward much talked about transfer move to the Egyptian giants is currently in tatters due to a purported failure in medical examinations

Ghanaian striker Abdul-Aziz Yakubu move to Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC is on the verge of collapsing after reportedly failing his medical assessments, according to multiple reports from the Portuguese press via the Egyptian media.

The 24-year-old landed in Egypt on Wednesday to put pen to papper for the Egyptian Premier League superpower after a transfer fee of €2.5m was agreed between Rio Ave and 'The Red Devils'.

According to Portuguese news outlets O jogo, further tests will be carried out again by the Egyptian side as his health issue now  remains a great concern for them in their bid to get the deal done over the line as soon as possible.

Aziz has a medical history of health scares as he once failed medical tests at Azerbaijani elite side Qarabag FK when his then owners V. Gimarães had wanted to sell him during the summer window last season.

The former Vizela man has scored 6 times and provided 3 assists in 14 League games for Rio Ave in the ongoing Liga Portugal 22/23 football season.

He is yet to be capped by Ghana at the international level.
