Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has emphasised that his outfit need Thomas Partey as he's an important player for them.

 And now following his impressive display in the contest, the Spanish gaffer has reiterated his commitment to retain his services beyond the current campaign, telling reporters:"He better have his head here because we are playing for big things and that’s what we expect."

"We need him because he’s a top player, a very important player for us and you can see on the pitch as well what kind of impact he can have for us. He’s our player, he’s got one more year’s contract and I’m really happy with him."

The Black Stars mercurial man will have his current deal at the Emirates Stadium expired in June 2025, with fresh terms over contract extension yet to be offered by the north Londoners.
