Former Corners Babies forward Asumah Abubakar-Ankrah scored his first goal of the season for Swiss Super League side FC Luzern and also provided an assist in Saturday’s 6-0 win over FC Winterthur.
The Ghanaian forward netted the fourth goal of the game in the 25th minute as the Luminaries cruised to the heavy league victory at the Stadion Schützenwiese.
Abubakar-Ankrah, 25, started the game as the first half ended with a 4-0 lead for Luzern, with German midfielder Max Meyer scoring two goals after just 32 minutes from the start.
Centre-back Marco Burch scored the third for Luzern in the 22nd minute, before Abubakar-Ankrah nipped the fourth through a perfect surging forward just three minutes later.
Slovakian midfielder Jakub Kadak and Christian Gentner scored the fifth and sixth goals respectively to snatch all three points at stake for Luzern.
Having acquired Portuguese citizenship, Abubakar-Ankrah featured for Portugal in the 2016 UEFA European Under-19 Championship in Germany.
He has made seven league appearances so far this season after eight round of matches, scoring a goal and providing two assists in the Swiss top-tier.
