Italian Serie A side Atalanta have opened negotiations with Southampton over a potential move for Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana, in a deal that could see him reunited with his former manager Ivan Juric.
The 22-year-old, who is currently with English Championship side Southampton, has attracted significant interest in the Italian top flight, with Atalanta making the first official contact. The club’s interest comes as they prepare for a busy summer following their UEFA Europa League triumph and qualification for the Champions League.
A potential reunion with Ivan Juric — who is expected to take charge at Atalanta following Gian Piero Gasperini’s anticipated exit — could be a major factor in luring Sulemana to Bergamo. Juric is known to be an admirer of the Ghanaian international and previously attempted to sign him during his tenure at Torino.
Genoa, who have also been tracking the former Rennes winger, remain interested and could step up their pursuit if Atalanta fail to reach an agreement.
Sulemana, who joined Southampton from Rennes in January 2023, endured an injury-hit campaign but remains highly rated for his explosive pace, dribbling skills, and flair in wide areas.
