AZ Alkmaar first-choice goalkeeper, Rome Jayden Owusu-Oduro is in line to switch his nationality from Holland to play for Ghana, according to reports.
The young goalie was born in Holland but has a Ghanaian parentage which makes him eligible to represent any of these countries in question at national level.
The 20-year-old joined AZ Alkmaar when he was just 12 years and has really improved and developed very well having gone through all the ranks in their youth teams.
He debuted for the senior side in December 2023 in a UEFA Europa Conference League game against Polish side Legia Warsaw and has since gradually established himself as a mainstay and now the club's first choice.
He's made four appearances so far in the Eredivise and it is reported the Ghana FA have already started talks with him hoping to have him switch nationality as he is currently with the Dutch U21 national team.
Talks are still ongoing between both parties over the switch and the player could be in line for a call-up for next month's double header against Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Rome Jayden Owusu-Oduro was in post for Holland U21 in their 5-0 and 3-1 wins over North Macedonia and Georgia respectively in this international window.
