Ghana international Baba Iddrisu will be undergoing scans today after picking a fresh injury against Athletico Madrid last Wednesday night, with just ten days to the commencement of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Iddrisu, who is a key member of the senior national team of Ghana, limped off on the stroke of halftime and never returned after the break in RCD Mallorca's home win over the Rojiblancos, and was replaced with Andres Battaglia.
The transformative midfielder was named in Ghana's provisional 55-man squad which released coach Otto Addo for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Iddrissu, who has made 11 La Liga appearances for RCD Mallorca this season so far, is one of the highly-rated midfielders expected to be named in Ghana's final squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The extent of his injury will be determined by the close of today after the scan, and will only be excluded from the coach Otto Addo's final squad when he's unable to recover early.
The Black Stars have been housed in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Ghana will face 2016 European champions Portugal on Thursday, November 24, 2022.
