Greece based defender Abdul Baba Rahman has been excluded from the Black Stars squad for the international friendly against Liberia due to injury.

Baba Rahman has left the camp of the senior national team of Ghana due to an injury he picked in the final Group E fixture 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers last Thursday.

The former Chelsea left-back played a key role in Ghana's 2-1 home win over Central African Republic in the final group fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The 29-year-old, who currently ply his trade in Greece with PAOK FC, lasted for 69 minutes in the victory over Central African Republic before he was replaced by Gideon Mensah.

According to the medical team of the Black Stars, Baba Rahman won't be available for selection in the team's international friendly against Liberia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

Medeama SC left-back Fatawu Hamidu has been handed a late call-up by the Black Stars technical team led by Chris Hughton to replace Baba Rahman.

Ghana, having book its 24th appearance at the next edition of the AFCON, will be playing Liberia in an international friendly at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday.
