The versatile forward believes he is a target of match officials in the Belgian top-flight, with them being told they are "destroying" the competition rather than doing good to it

Belgian Pro League match officials don't like me and l have become their target over biased treatment in the top-flight contest, a highly livid Joseph Paintsil has claimed.

The apoplectic wideman is set to sit out for their next league fixture against RWD Molenbeek after he was booked in yesterday's 1-1 stalemate against KV Mechelen.

In reaction to his suspension, the 26-year-old has accused the match officials over what he perceived to be an unfettered treatment being meted out to him as he believes they are distroying the top division contest rather than doing it good with their action towards him.

"It's unbelievable. I think the referees are targeting me, but I accept it. I didn't even attack him aggressively, I just tried to talk to him," the Genk winger said as quoted by Voetbalkrant after yesterday's clash. "I will ignore what they do, I will remain what I am, even if they whistle at me. It doesn't matter to me because I know now that they are after me ."

He continued ranting, " I'll say it: the Belgian referees don't like me. They're completely destroying the championship when they think they're doing a good job."It's not good for the Belgian championship. I wish them the best in every match. I know they will be behind me again in the next match, but I will show them that I am still the same Paintsil."

The Ghanaian versatile forward is likely to incur the wrath of the Belgian football governing body over his latest vituperation against the match officials going forward.
