Cercle Brugge midfielder Lawrence Agyekum has been handed a late invitation to the Black Stars for the matches against Chad and Madagascar.



The enterprising 21-year-old lad has been brought aboard in replacement of Elisha Owusu who plies his trade in France for AJ Auxerre was named in the initial 23-man list but has to be excluded due to injury.



Agyekum has to win the heart of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo during training sessions if he’s to make his debut for the team.



He has featured in 38 games across all competitions for Cercle Brugge this season.



Ghana will take on Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The west African giants will host Chad at Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, and then travel to Morocco to face Madagascar on March 24, 2025.
