Ghanaian youth international, Zubairu Ibrahim has undergone a successful surgery following his recent knee injury and is expected to be on sidelines for a very long time.

The 20-year-old joined Serbian giants FK Partizan Belgrade prior to the commencement of the ongoing season from Jedintsvo Ub on a four-year deal, where he enjoyed a magnificent two-year spell.

The mercurial winger has been outstanding in his debut season in the Superliga and currently has nine goals and three assists for the Steamrollers in 26 league matches.

However, the bad news came last week when Zubairu sustained an injury during FK Partizan's match-day 30 fixture against Radnicki 1923 on April 6, in a game he came off only in the 35th minute with his place taken by Korean international Young-jun Goh.

The former Black Satellites captain after the injury has conducted a surgery which went successful and will not play again this season and could be out till the early stages of the 2025/26 season.

Speaking after the operation, Zubairu expressed gratitude for the support he's got since his injury and has vowed to bounce back stronger very soon.

“Hello, Grobari! Thank you for your messages and support. The surgery was successful, I’m feeling good now, and I’ll come back stronger than ever! Love you all! Your black-and-white family is waiting for you!"
