AFC Bournemouth have strengthened their academy ranks with the signing of 16-year-old left-footed winger Denzil Decardi-Nelson from Levels FC, following a successful trial and scholarship offer.
The English-born Ghanaian prospect will now continue his football development within Bournemouth’s elite academy system, where he will receive professional coaching and the resources to hone his skills at a crucial stage in his career. Known for his pace, dribbling ability, and creativity on the left flank, Decardi-Nelson is expected to be an exciting addition to the Cherries’ youth setup.
Phil Antwi, Bournemouth’s Head of Emerging Talent & First-Team Recruitment, played a key role in facilitating the transfer, highlighting the club’s continued commitment to identifying and nurturing young talent, including promising Ghanaian prospects.
“This is a huge step for Denzil, and we are confident he will thrive in our environment,” Antwi said. “Our academy focuses on developing technically gifted players, and Denzil has the potential to make a real impact in the future.”
Decardi-Nelson’s move underscores Bournemouth’s strategy of blending homegrown development with scouting for international talent, and he joins a growing list of young players in the Premier League club’s pathway aiming to break into professional football.
