British-born Ghanaian striker Brandon Thomas-Asante continued his blistering goal scoring form in the English Championship as he was on target again for his club West Bromwich Albion in their 3-2 home defeat.
Irish striker Scott Hogan’s hat-trick at the Hawthorns gave Birmingham City all three points despite Baggies two goals effort from Jed Wallace and Thomas-Asante.
Baggies manager Steve Bruce brought on Thomas-Asante as Albion went into hunting, searching for a leveller.
Thomas-Asante, 23, earned a penalty in the 83rd minute and availed himself to perfectly convert from 12-yards, his second of the season.
Albion's final chance at goal during the dying embers of the game was headed straight to goalkeeper John Ruddy by Congolese-born winger Grady Diangana.
Thomas-Asante has now scored two goals in two appearances for the Baggies in the English Championship.
He scored on his debut a fortnight ago when West Brom came from behind to draw 1-1 with Burnley at home.
