The workaholic centre-back has sealed a sensational move to the Russian top-flight league powerhouse after leaving Fenerbahçe.
Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow have completed the signing of Ghana international Alexander Djiku from Turkish club Fenerbahçe for €5 million, Kickgh.com can exclusively confirm.
Djiku has departed Fenerbahçe due to lack of regular playing time, and he agreed to join the Moscow-based outfit for game time, as he looks forward to making Ghana's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup scheduled to be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Fenerbahçe accepted a financial package of five million euros from Spartak Moscow for the former RC Strasbourg skipper, who also attracted interest from French Ligue 1 clubs Lille, Nice, and Toulouse before the European transfer window closed last week.
Kickgh.com can also reveal that the 31-year-old defender will be heading to Moscow after the international break to finalise his switch for an official unveiling.
Djiku featured in 38 games for Fenerbahçe across all competitions in the 2024-25 campaign.
He currently boasts of 34 caps with the Ghana Senior National Team on the international stage, with three goals to his name.
Djiku scored the only goal to hand Ghana a home victory over Mali to keep the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification hopes alive, as the West African nation leads Group I with 19 points after eight matches.
