Ghana and Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo has been ruled out for approximately eight weeks after sustaining a left knee injury during the club’s 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town over the weekend.
The 26-year-old is expected to miss around two months of action, dealing a setback to Manchester City as they prepare for a demanding run of Premier League and UEFA Champions League fixtures.
Initial fears surrounding the injury have eased following medical scans, which confirmed that the problem is not muscle-related and is less severe than first anticipated.
Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca expects Semenyo to return to action in December 2026, although the forward will need time to recover before resuming competitive football.
The injury is also set to rule him out of Ghana’s November international break, leaving the Black Stars without the forward for their upcoming double header against Somalia next month.
