The young attacker has been omitted from the Black Stars squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Kickgh.com can exclusively report.
US Cremonese centre-forward Felix Afena-Gyan has been excluded from Ghana's final 26-man squad list for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Afena-Gyan, who played an instrumental role in the Black Stars' qualification to the mundial, failed to make the final list submitted by Coach Otto Addo to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the tournament.
The 19-year-old was a standout performer in the final play-off games for the 2022 FIFA World Cup against Nigeria where he featured in the two-legged fixture in March.
In June, he scored his debut goal for the Black Stars of Ghana in their 3-0 win over Madagascar during a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Cape Coast stadium.
Afena-Gyan was included in the provisional 55-man squad list announced by the Ghana Football Association last week.
However, Coach Otto Addo has dropped the hugely talented attacker from the final squad list for the 2022 FIFA World Cup slated for November to December.
Ghana coach Otto Addo is expected to announce Ghana's 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Sunday, 13th November, 2022.
The confirmed final squad will leave for Abu Dhabi, UAE for a pre World Cup training tour where they will face Switzerland in their last friendly to get themselves adequately prepared and gelled for the global showpiece.
Ghana in Group H, will face 2016 European champions Portugal in their opening fixture of the 2022 FIFA World Cup on November 24, at the Stadium 974 in the capital, Doha.
