The talented forward has sealed a sensational move to the Croatian top-tier club from AFC Bournemouth in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Croatian side HNK Rijeka have completed the signing of English-born Ghanaian striker Daniel Adu-Adjei in a deal worth £1.2 million to augment their squad for the 2025–26 season's campaign.

The 19-year-old striker, who rose through AFC Bournemouth’s academy setup, will travel to Croatia on Monday to undergo his medical before putting pen to paper on a long-term contract.

Despite being outstanding during his short loan spell at Carlisle United last term, where he netted twice and provided two assists in 17 matches, opportunities to break into Bournemouth's senior team remained uncertain under Andoni Iraola.

He was part of the AFC Bournemouth pre-season squad that featured in the Premier League Summer Series matches in the United States, and he managed to score in their 3-0 win over Everton.

With competition for attacking places fierce in the Premier League, Adu-Adjei and his representatives opted for a move abroad, which would provide the platform for consistent game time and aid his development.

HNK Rijeka, one of Croatia’s most competitive clubs, offers Adu-Adjei the chance to test himself at a high level while also gaining exposure to European competitions.

Adu-Adjei has been tipped as one of Ghana’s most promising young forwards, and the move is seen as a crucial step towards gaining regular first-team experience.

He remains eligible to feature for Ghana or England in the future.
