Black Stars dependable defender, Alexander Djiku sustained a very painful injury in Strasbourg's league fixture with Toulouse over the weekend and his manager has given an update on that.
The Blue and Whites held their opponents to a thrilling four goal thriller after drawing 2-2 with them at the Stade Municipal in round 12 of the French Ligue 1.
The unpleasant news for Ghana is that, center-back Alexander Djiku injured himself in the course of the game and was taken off on the 26th minute for Lucas Perrin to take his place.
The extent of his injury is yet to be determined with only few days left to the World Cup.
Reacting to his injury, Strasbourg manager Julien Stephan in his post-match presser stated the injury is a little one and is hoping it won't be anything serious.
"Alex has a little muscle problem. It pulled a little on the ischio, I hope it's not too serious."
The 28 year old has been sensational and an Integral member of the Black Stars since his debut and played a vital role in helping the Black Stars qualify to the Mundial.
Coach Otto Addo is expected to announce his provisional man squad for the World Cup in few days to come before it will be trimmed down to the final 26 before November 14, 2022.
Ghana is housed in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and South American giants Uruguay.
