Newly-signed defender, Ebenezer Annan is very elated to join Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade and is looking forward to helping the club win more titles.

The Serbian Super Liga champions announced the signing of the 24-year-old in a deal until the summer of 2027.

Annan, who has already capped for the Black Stars of Ghana, switched to the Red and Whites from Italian Serie A outfit Bologna for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old left-back, who spent the recently ended season on loan at Novi Pozar, signed a three-year contract with a year option of renewal with Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday afternoon.

Reacting to the move, the enterprising lateral feels very excited and added he is very familiar with the league and is looking forward to succeeding at the Rajko Mitic Stadium.

"I am very excited and happy to have signed a contract with Red Star. I am glad that my good games were noticed and that I managed to draw the attention of the Zvezda manager. I'm familiar with the Superliga and I think it's very high-quality, so I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to continue playing in Serbia,” Annan said, as quoted on the official website of Red Star Belgrade.

“I think my main assets are speed and technique, as well as intelligence with the ball, but I can improve in all segments. I want it and I believe in myself,” he added.

Following his explosive performance at Novi Pazar, Ghana coach Otto Addo handed him a debut call-up for March 2024 international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda. He made his debut appearance for the West African nation against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Annan was a member of Black Stars team that secured back-to-back victories in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
