Ghanaian young winger Edmund Baidoo scored his second goal to propel RB Salzburg to a sweet home win over Blau Weiss Linz in the Austrian Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon.
Baidoo, who was handed his first-ever senior start for the Austrian Bundesliga giants, delivered a masterclass performance, ensuring their title-winning hopes were alive with a 2-1 victory at the Red Bull Arena.
After a goalless first half, Mali international Dorgeles Nene opened the scoring for the home side after connecting with a pass from Terzić in the 55th minute of the game.
In the 70th minute, Baidoo brilliantly doubled the advantage for RB Salzburg with a solo run to strike the ball past Vitek before Danilo Mitrovic netted the consolation goal in the 82nd minute.
The 19-year-old was a delight to watch at the Red Bull Arena, and he lasted for 86 minutes before he was replaced by Bobby Clark.
Baidoo has scored three goals in 14 appearances for RB Salzburg across all competitions in the ongoing season's campaign.
He arrived at the 17th-time Austrian Bundesliga champions from Norwegian second-tier league outfit Sogndal IF during the last summer transfer for €3.30 million.
Baidoo has been a regular figure for RB Salzburg's feeder club FC Liefering in the UEFA Youth League, and he has notched up two goals and provided three assists in seven matches.
He is expected to be named in Ghana's U20 team for the upcoming 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations slated later this month in Egypt.
