Former Ghana international Emmanuel Boateng scored twice as Hapoel Tel Aviv battled to a 2-2 draw with Ludogorets Razgrad in Conference League qualification.
The Ghanaian striker struck in the 16th and 58th minutes, giving Hapoel a lead and later hauling them level after Ludogorets had turned the game around.
Hapoel made the most of their limited possession, holding just 37 percent of the ball against Ludogorets’s 63 percent. They also registered seven shots to their hosts’ ten, with both sides finishing level on five shots on target. Ludogorets won the corner count 6-2, but Hapoel’s direct approach kept them dangerous throughout.
Boateng’s opener came from Stav Turiel’s assist and set the tone for a lively first half. Ludogorets responded quickly after the break through Bernard Tekpetey and Alberto Salido, but Boateng punished them again midway through the second period to force a share of the spoils.
The draw keeps Hapoel alive in the tie after a spirited away performance. They now turn their attention to the next round of European duty, with GKS Katowice awaiting in Conference League qualification on August 6.
